RM of Arm River’s story
The Rural Municipality of Arm River No. 252 was first incorporated on December 13, 1909, under the name RM of Girvin No. 252. A few years later, on June 29, 1912, its name was changed to the RM of Arm River No. 252, the name it still carries.
The RM lies along Highway 11, between Saskatoon and Regina. The town of Davidson is surrounded by the municipality and is home to the RM's office. Girvin, also within the RM, was once a village but was dissolved as one on December 19, 2005, and is now a locality. A Canadian National Railway line, the Regina Branch, has long served Girvin, Davidson and other communities along its route.
